First Blog about Top Chef

I've never really watched top chef but I thought what the hell, why not watch the interesting foods that they make and see them being judged over it. Plus my girlfriend loves these types of shows so she could help me critique. I guess this will be another version of Top Chef except for this is nothing but desserts. The schedule time is good but also very bad as well. According to Bravo, it premieres at 11:00 pm Wednesday September 15th, right after the season finale of Top Chef D.C. This is good because you are pretty much watching  two hours of Top Chef. However this is a really bad time for a premiere because 11:00 at night is maybe just a little too late. Viewers are either going to bed, or about to watch the 11:00 news before bed. A good premiere time for a show is between the the 9-10 slots when that's maybe the last thing that viewers watch for the night. If anyone has comments about the scheduling, let me know because I think the scheduling for this show sucks. There will be 12 contestants, 3 judges and your host is Gail Simmons. I've never heard of any of the judges or host but we'll see how they are and how the show goes has it premieres Wednesday.

  2. I think the show will retain viewers form the other Chef shows, but struggle to attract a new audience. Hells Kitchen is amusing due to the Chef's unpredictability, but this show just seems to be a clone of the others.

  3. I always seem to be interested in the Top Chef show. Whether it's the Masters show or just regular Top Chef I just find it alluring. The best part about this show will be the fact that it's desserts. In the regular show every shys away, but this should be interesting. Hopefully it doesn't stay in the 11 p.m. time slot

  4. im a fan of the top chef shows so i ended up watching a few master chef shows and im probably going to watch most of the dessert shows. i think that a lot of the viewers of the show are going to be audience members of the other shows like i am. what makes top chef fun to watch is the challenges cooks are placed in weird positions to make strange food good in sometimes weird situations. you can make stuff up as you go while your cooking and if something doesn't go right another thing could be added to make it into something different. but baking is a science its all about precision and not making it up as you go so ill be interested to see how the show will make challenges exciting to watch for desserts that arnt as flexible to bake.
